Shira Barzilay, Gatekeepers, 2021

A walkway in Munich gets given an anthropomorphic face-lift, courtesy of Tel-Aviv-based illustrator Shira Barzilay (aka @koketit). Barzilay has a fondness for figures and faces, which she deftly inserts into everyday scenes—from sunsets and stairwells, to seascapes and sofas—always rendered in her distinct, linear style, with particularly playful results.
