What you looking at? This portrait of a girl with some serious red-eye and a scarlet lollipop to match is taken from Talia Chetrit’s new photobook, Showcaller, which brings together a range of her work across a twenty-four year period, from sexual imagery to fashion commissions to self-portraiture. The common thread between these diverse images is an awareness of the power dynamic that exists between subject and photographer, which Chetrit invites to be played out fully in front of her camera—a showcalling of sorts. Published by Mack Books, it will be released in January.
