“There’s VIP, and then there’s VVIP”: Party Reporting from the Ginny on Frederick x Rose Easton x Wschod x 56 Henry Party

As Frieze week continues in full force amidst a flurry of Pleats Please and PR invites, the real battle isn’t just over sales but over who can craft the best “I’m so busy” narrative when asked the obligatory, “So, what’s your week looking like?” It was clear, however, that among the Hustle Olympics, the actual event everyone had penciled in their Google calendars was the vastly oversubscribed Ginny on Frederick x Rose Easton x Wschod x 56 Henry party at The London Edition. A queue snaked around the block as art world glitterati, interspersed with enthusiastic chancers, vied for a spot on the D floor. Luckily, PR princess and door girl extraordinaire Jennifer Kibazo was there to run a tight ship, deftly sipping house white while managing the chorus of “don’t you know who I am?”. Friendships were tested, relationships strained, as some were ushered behind the velvet rope while others were left on the wrong side of art world purgatory.

Fresh from the booth, Freddie Powell and Rose Easton were joined by artists Eva Gold and Charlotte Edey, while Jack O’Brien took a night off from being a cover star to convene with the likes of Bengi Unsal, Angelina Volk, and Gray Wielebinski. Spirits were high as one attendee noted the “Brit Pop energy” of the week, and things really kicked off with the dulcet sounds of Popcaan and Charli XCX. Party girls Ana Viktoria Dzinic and Mahoro Seward were seen throwing shapes alongside Albert Ricera Galceran, while Tess McMillan floated ethereally through the chaos. Amidst the revelry, an unnamed guest reportedly took a tumble off a ladder in a quest for the perfect Instagram shot. Meanwhile, gallerinas in the bathroom grappled with automatic taps that refused to cooperate and Sofia Hallstrom, ever the multitasker, fired off copy between sips of Moscow Mules.

As with any good party, the smoking area was where the real drama happened, and the extremely skinny outdoor space made for excellent eavesdropping and a sort of art world sardines situation, with Wynnie Mynerva and René Matic caught in the chaos. No one seemed to be properly equipped with a cigarette, lighter or filters of any kind, and a feral, bartering atmosphere took hold as Helen Neven, notably vape-less, navigated the haze, while Violet Conroy and Hunter Boyd puffed away and Laurie Barron powered through a pack of covetable Malboros.

Proving that the intersection of art and fashion is very much alive, Fiona Hartley and Osman Ahmed rubbed shoulders with Sinead O’Dwyer and Gabriel Pluckrose, leaving Noah Horowitz and Alex Flick to discuss the state of the market, with the evening ending in the inevitable crush for the cloakroom. Quick to remedy the situation, Ruby Dickson expertly commandeered the crowd, dishing out black leather jacket after black leather jacket like a tabi-cloven Jesus while guests stumbled into Ubers, off to late-night dinners at Loewe or questionable afters in Dalston.
