Drifting back to work after a four-day weekend… This dreamy image by Tim Walker for Casa Vogue finds the artist Clementine Keith-Roach bobbing on a pond in an oyster-shell bed. The typically fantastical photographer has conjured up a scene of romantic abandon, capturing the artist looking unselfconscious and carefree. “I think vulnerability and fragility are the most photogenic things,” Walker told Emily Steer in an interview for Elephant 41. “In society, we’re walking around with masks on, and there are manners and forms and rituals that mask fragility. People I meet as a photographer who expose their fragility … [allow] me to expose mine. It’s an invitation to have a proper conversation.” Purchase Issue 41 here to read the interview in full.
