A saucy Sunday scene, conjured up by the Japanese artist Toshio Saeki in 1972. A legendary creator of erotic (and often highly controversial) underground art, Saeki passed away in November 2019, leaving “a lot of questioned unanswered about his work”, writes Charlotte Jansen, one of the only foreign journalists to spend time with Saeki at his studio in rural Japan.
