Valeria Sigal, Nina Saltando en la Cama, 2020

Sundays are for simple pleasures (jumping on the bed very much included). This energetic image was captured by the Argentine photographer Valeria Sigal, who left her job in banking to pursue figurative photography following the birth of her daughter Nina (pictured here). “[This is] a happy moment in what was a very dark year in which, due to mandatory isolation, Nina did not see her friends for more than eight months,” Sigal explains of the uplifting picture, her entry to LensCulture’s upcoming International Photography Prize on the theme of “home”.
