A new exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum takes its cue from the Guerrilla Girls’ 1989 poster, which features the statement “You’re seeing less than half the picture without the vision of women artists and artists of color.” The exhibition features over 100 works from the museum’s collection, including the aforementioned Guerrilla Girls poster, and the above work by Native American contemporary artist Wendy Red Star. “For me, as an artist who really focuses on identity and identity based work, it’s really very refreshing to be so relevant,” the artist has commented about the current political climate.
