In most countries, women only get one day to celebrate being women. In the US meanwhile, as well as International Women’s Day in March, there is also Women’s Equality Day. Today, August 26, marks the historic moment in 1920 the Nineteenth Amendment (Amendment XIX) was adopted to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.
