Alice Irwin, from the series Go to Bed, 2018

Printmaker and sculptor Alice Irwin (who we spoke to a few months back) is turning Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s Bothy Gallery into a temporary studio from this Saturday until 4 November. The recent RCA graduate uses experimental forms of screenprinting and etching to explore motifs relating to childhood and memory, complete with montages of mysterious eyes and hands. Her bright colour palette and preoccupation with youthful interactions such as board games and word association are inherently playful, and during this exhibition you can experience her working processes first hand, or get involved in a family printmaking workshop.
