A supersized Sunday sarnie costume, conjured up by the London-based photographer Annie Collinge in a shoot for Luncheon magazine, styled by Rottingdean Bazaar. In Collinge’s work, “visual trickery abounds”, writes Louise Benson in a feature on the artist for Elephant, “as if Alice had just stumbled upon a magic potion in Wonderland, with scale frequently distorted.” This interest in the very big and the very small dates back to Collinge’s youth—”I was a very spacey child because I was always lost in a miniature world daydream somewhere,” she tells Benson—and much of her brilliantly theatrical practice is an attempt to recreate this childhood wonderment.
