Gareth Cadwallader, Orange Juice, 2015

Tiring of dry January? For Gareth Cadwallader, a glass of orange juice is inspiration enough! The artist often depicts zesty fruits (or their liquid counterpart) in his small-scale realist paintings. They explore the intersection between the banal and the surreal, coupling seemingly everyday actions or environments with a slightly unsettling sense of renewed focus or intrigue. Cadwallader’s first solo exhibition at Josh Lilley is on show until 22 February.
