Ease yourself into the week with this peaceful moonlit scene by Norwegian painter Harald Sohlberg, featured in a new exhibition at London’s Whitechapel Gallery. Spanning works from the late 19th century to the present day, the nocturnal-themed show paints “a complex portrait of a long, dark night”, in the words of Holly Black for Elephant. This particular scene was discovered by Sohlberg during a skiing trip in the Rondane mountains, Black explains. “The artist became obsessed, creating over the years many different versions in paint, watercolour and even a print.” Discover more about the work, and the other pieces on show here.
