Don McCullin, Protester, Cuban Missile Crisis, Whitehall, London 1962

Today, Tate Britain opens a show of the renowned documentary photographer Don McCullin. His inky black and white works have taken viewers into the depths of the Vietnam and Lebanon wars, and into his local community in Finsbury Park. Here, a protester in London faces a wall of policemen, in protest of the Cuban Missile Crisis—a moment of war being felt a home.
