William Eggleston

William Eggleston, Untitled, c. 1977

The colour, light and composition… it’s got to be a William Eggleston picture. The great American photographer stands out for his bold use of vivid hues and his vernacular subject matter, having turned his lens on the details of everyday America for nearly six decades. A brand new exhibition of his work from the 1970s has just opened at David Zwirner in London (and runs until 1 June), bringing together a selection of portraits, and his images of cars, parking lots, and local stores and businesses.
