Who doesn’t love John Currin? The bawdy painter, who specializes in satirical set-ups and big breasted, rosy cheeked, suggestive female bodies, is opening a show at Gagosian in Geneva at the end of this month, in line with the city’s ArtGenève. This oddly long-necked lady is characteristic of Currin’s characters, who often appear as part real, part warped, as though only part of their body is being warped in a magic mirror, while the rest remains realistically proportioned.
