John Loker, Space Is a Dangerous Country, Adrift, 2018

It’s the start of Frieze week, and one show not to miss is John Loker’s Six Decades at Flowers Gallery on Kingsland Road. The British artist began making work in the sixties, and the evolution of his practice is charted in this extensive exhibition—his latest paintings are characterized by waving line forms and dark subject matter, exploring space, war and uncertainty in an abstract manner. You can join Team Elephant at the exhibition from 6 pm tonight, where we will be celebrating the launch of Ben Lewis’s book on the artist, Horizons, Zones and Outer Spaces: The Art of John Loker, which is published by Elephant in association with Flowers.
