Juno Calypso, Sedative Pink, 2019

Don’t miss a new exhibition that celebrates the Women’s World Cup, just opened at J Hammond Projects in North London. Curated by OOF magazine, which explores the intersection between football and art, ULTRA: Art for the Women’s World Cup brings together the work of eight female artists. The exhibition includes painter Emma Cousin and ceramicist (and former Elephant Lab resident) Emmely Elgersma. Also featured is Elephant favourite Juno Calypso, who explores the calming effects of the colour pink in her staged photographs of a female footballer bloodied and muddy after play, with disquieting results. The show is on display until 27 July.
