If you’re in London for Frieze this week, don’t miss the final days of Rand/Goop by the truly unique artist duo Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley. For their first UK institutional show at Studio Voltaire, they have taken all the spoken words in their characteristic black and white video installations from Gweneth Paltrow’s lifestyle company Goop and appraisals of Ayn Rand’s ‘Objectivism’ philosophies. The work explores self-care as “the relentless pursuit of personal betterment”, connected with ideas of individualism and “selfishness”. Their monochrome, horrible and humourous works are truly something to behold.
