Tuesday wanderlust courtesy of La Congiunta, “a gnomic assemblage of geometric forms, somewhere between a brutalist church and an Adolf Loos mausoleum… set in the rustic, vineyard-dappled valleys of Ticino, southern Switzerland”, as Joe Lloyd writes for Elephant. The structure was designed in 1992 by the Swiss architect Peter Märkli, and remains his most famous work. To go inside, you must first acquire a key from a local osteria in the adjacent village of Giornico—a worthwhile endeavour because La Congiunta houses several striking works by the late Zürich-based sculptor Hans Josephsohn.
