Rachel Maclean, Make Me Up, 2018

The brash and brilliant work of Rachel Maclean returns to Zabludowicz Collection this week—the artist first showed at the North London space in 2014. This time the Scottish artist has created the collection’s Annual Commission, showing a new VR work, I’m Terribly Sorry, and her 2017 Venice Biennale film, Spite Your Face, which is horrific and amusing in equal measure. The above image is from her new film Make Me Up, in which Siri, the central character, wakes to find herself trapped inside a “brutalist dream house” where she must fight for survival with her fellow inhabitants.
