When it’s Friday and you’re feeling feeling fabulous. This excellent photograph of cats cavorting in a pet shop window was snapped by American image-maker Walter Chandoha. The king of cat portraiture, Chandoha captured thousands of feline-centric photos over the course of his lifetime, explains Holly Black in an archive feature on Prestel’s 2019 monograph on the subject. “This bible of feline fare shows the incredible breadth of his photography,” she writes of the book, “and what might first come across as a rather schmaltzy collection of perfectly coiffed pedigrees is actually a brilliant study of an animal that is known for its tempestuous and volatile personality traits.” Click here to read on.
