Jess de Wahls, Vaginal Embroidery

The future is female this Friday, with February’s Tate Late celebrating the contribution of women across all avenues of creativity. Expect an alternative history lesson from Katy Hessel (founder of The Great Women Artists) and artist Alice Skinner; discussions around depictions of the body in and beyond the gallery with Chidera Eggerue (AKA the Slumflower), psychotherapist Susie Orbach and Tate Modern director Francis Morris; a vaginal embroidery workshop from Jess De Wahls; and a talk with transgender activist and nail art expert Charlie Craggs. Tate staff and volunteers will also be offering ten-minute insights into works from the collection. Check out the whole programme here.
